After 90 years we have lost the company of Lord Ronnie Fearn OBE. Ronnie was Southport's MP from 1987-92 and again from 1997-2001. He was first elected to Southport Council in 1962 and served as a councillor representing Norwood Ward from the inception of Sefton Council to 2016. He was made a member of the House of Lords in 2001 and retired from the Lords in 2018. He was awarded the OBE for services to Southport in 1996.It is impossible to do justice to such a long and illustrious career of public service or to list all the ways in which he helped, entertained and encouraged all those he met -especially in the town of his birth- but the photo-montage below may give some idea.
